The third opera installation composed and directed by Wojtek Blecharz, “Body-Opera” challenges the way in which we usually listen to music.
Blecharz has already encouraged audiences to watch opera in unusual locations and explore new spaces in his previous works, “Transcryptum” and “Park-Opera”. In “Body-Opera” the composer examines the relationship between the human body and sound, and the very physical nature of music--how cultural institutions limit the audience’s perception by cultivating the tradition of sitting, listening and watching. The new show features a dancer, Karol Tymiński, double-bass played by Beltane Ruiz Molina and percussion by Alexandre Babel.
There are two performances at the Grand Théâtre, at 5 and 8 p.m.
