Following a widely acclaimed show at Rotondes last year, Cigarettes After Sex returns to Luxembourg.
The Brooklyn-based ambient pop ensemble follows what seems to be a tsunami of fellow chillwave act. But their unique selling point is frontman Greg Gonzalez’s androgynous voice, which does nothing to diminish the impact of their music. The Guardian said that the band’s “sound is surprisingly muscular compared to their peers”. Their music is often subdued with lyrics that can be criticised for being too obsessed with sex, but it is also fascinating and engaging. Just listen to ‘Apocalypse’ and you get the idea.
