The Luxembourg City Tourist Office hosts two music festivals over one weekend, offering live, open-air music and other activities all free of charge.
The fun gets started on Saturday when a host of world music artists performs over five outdoor stages at the Meyouzik festival.
Workshops in capoeira, music and dance will be offered from 2:45pm by the Gëlle Fra stage while the programme of street artists begins at 2pm.
The line-up of live concerts include the likes of Argentinian singer songwriter La Yegros (whose song ‘El Bendito’ was featured in the football video game 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil), French Arabic-Andalucian rockers Speed Caravan (8:45pm Neimënster Stage) and multi-genre Spanish duo Fuel Fandango (10:45pm, Neimënster Stage). Performances continue until the early hours on the Neimënster and Gëlle Fra stages.
If that were not enough, the streets of the capital will continue to be filled with the sounds of music on Sunday when Rock um Knuedler breezes into town.
This year the festival will put local artists in the spotlight. Discover talented musicians and bands you may never have heard of or revisit old favourites across four stages—not forgetting the mobile musicians who will be serenading people in the streets.
Acts to watch out for include rockers Fox (8:45pm, Lion Stage), nostalgic indie pop band The Tame & The Wild (5:30pm, Gëlle Fra Stage), indie band TUYS (5:30pm, Lion Stage) and headliner Pascal Schumacher (pictured above) playing music from his new album “Drops & Points” (10:30pm, Lion Stage).
