Dads in Luxembourg have a new playdate--The Luxembourg Daddy Group--which welcomes new faces to this, their second official event.
Launched on Facebook in March as a way for fathers to meet up with their children, the group now has over 300 members. It held its first event on 21 May (also at the Parc de Merl), bringing together around 30 dads and their kids. A play tent with plastic balls for the children was available at the last event.
Jonathan, a German national who now calls Luxembourg home, says he set up the group when he began his part-time parental leave to take care of his one-year-old son. With most of his friends at work, Jonathan wanted something different to what most of the parent (and mothers’) social media groups were offering. In a recent interview with Delano, he explained that he is noticing more fathers taking time off, perhaps in part due to the new parental leave reform which took effect in December 2016.
