Cinephiles can quiz actor Chris Walley about his latest film “The Young Offenders” when he comes to town for a special screening to coincide with St Patrick’s Day celebration.
Directed and written by Peter Foott, this is a comedy about two lovable rogues in Cork city who dream of riches.
When they learn of a haul of cocaine being washed ashore in West Cork, it sets in motion a chain of capers as the two cycle 160km on stolen bikes pursued by police to find a missing bale of cocaine worth €7 million.
Inspired by the true story of Ireland's biggest cocaine seizure in 2007, the film uses anecdotes from a trip Foott made to West Cork in his youth.
This film grossed €1m plus at the Irish box office. Head over to the Cinémathèque to find out why.
