A fascinating show by theatre group 1927, “Golem” mixes live performance, animation, music, song, and movement.
Described as “a dystopian fable for the 21st century”, this show draws on the on the ancient Jewish folklore but here becomes a clever satire that explores the role of technology in the modern world.
“Golem” is ostensibly the story of a man who fashions a creature out of clay to work for him. But this original story, located in a futuristic and yet throwback, familiar world, explores man and his machines. It has been likened to “a giant graphic novel that has burst into life.”
