Mozambique-born theatre director Jorge Andrade brings his new creation to Luxembourg.
“Moçambique” imagines the life of its creator, theatre director Jorge Andrade, if he had stayed in the African country of his birth rather than move to Portugal at the age of four. But it also re-imagines the modern history of Mozambique, mixing reality and fiction. Using choreography, video projection and a recorded soundtrack, the show promises to be lively and witty and moving.
Performed by Andrade’s Mala Voadora company (photo Bruno Simao), the creation has been called an “irresistible comedy” that tackles the theme of colonisation and post-colonial relationships.
It is performed in Portuguese with English surtitles.
