Kinneksbond in Mamer is putting on Danny Braverman’s award-winning play “Wot? No Fish!!”. Delano has 3 pairs of tickets to give away.
When Danny Braverman discovered some 3,000 wage slips belonging to his late uncle Ab in a shoebox, he unearthed a treasure trove of material for a play. On the back of the wage skips, Ab had drawn pictures to his wife that chronicle family life in the East End of London, from the 1920s to the 1980s. The drawings are described as being made with “great wit and warmth and blistering honesty” as they “vividly depict shifting ambitions and attitudes” and the social history of the neighbourhood.
Braveman turned the drawings into the play “Wot? No Fish!!”, which went on to win the Brian Way Award for best new play and was Lyn Gardner’s pick of the 2013 Fringe in “The Guardian”.
Now the one-man show, featuring the drawings projected on to a screen, comes to the Kinneksbond in Mamer. Delano has 3 pairs of tickets to give away.
