Flamenco dancing, a dinner concert, opera, acrobatic performances and music spanning multiple genres await visitors to the sixty-fifth festival of Wiltz.
The festival kicks off on 28 June with Danish singer-songwriter Agnes Obel. The solo musician established a presence on the Danish music scene with the release of her first album, “Philharmonics”, in October 2010.
Having garnered her critical and commercial success, she scooped five prizes at the Danish Music Awards in November 2011.
Obel grew up in a musical family and learned to play piano at a young age. During her childhood, she found inspiration in the work of Jan Johansson while European folk tunes with a jazz twist are a strong influence on her music.
She dropped out of school at 17 to learn sound techniques. She now has three albums to her name having released the third, “Citizen of Glass”, in July 2016.
