Luxembourg will play Malta and Czechia (formerly Czech Republic) when they host their first ever multi-team international cricket tournament from 6 to 8 July.
The three countries will play six games together in the T20 format at the national cricket grounds in Walferdange.
“Our squad has been performing well at club level, and if we take this form into the international tournament, we will have a good chance of success,” national team vice captain Tony Whiteman said in a press release, adding: “It is important that we do well, not least as this will help us in our application to play in official tournaments organised by the game’s governing body, the International Cricket Council.”
Supporters are invited to head over to the grounds to cheer on the local side. Food and drink will be on sale on 7 July.
The schedule will be as follows:
12:00 Luxembourg vs Malta
3:30pm Luxembourg vs Czechia
9:30am Malta vs Czechia
