The finalists were chosen by Startup Grind Luxembourg with Luxinnovation and Silicon Luxembourg.

Digital Inclusion, a not-for-profit which encourages access to digital learning by reconditioning old laptops and computers and distributing them to people on low incomes, was selected to represent Luxembourg in the social category of the awards.

Founded two years ago, it was hosted in the same building as Hariko but recently moved to new premises in Howald after the building was sold to be developed.

The other finalists include Evvos, participating in the “Eurovision” of startups for its hardware, firmware and cloud integration services platforms.

Swirl was recognised for its work with renewable energies in the digital society under the climate category. While Itondo, whose app enables people to virtually hang any artwork on their wall, was selected in the creative category.

Trust1Team, an integrator company providing products for companies and institutions to digitalise processes, was selected for the area of cybersecurity, and biowaste storage solution Tank D was chosen to compete in the energy category.

In educational technology, it will be Edutech, a startup to teach effectively with tablets, that will represent Luxembourg. The app for accessing health professionals in Luxembourg based on a number of criteria, Doctena, was selected for e-health.

Investify, a start-up providing a digital solution for people to manage their assets was selected for the fintech category.

Airboxlab’s home air quality monitor, Foobot, was chosen for internet of things. In the category of smart cities, intelligent automotive solutions startup Exomotive was chosen. In the field of space, OQTechnology working satellite technology will join team Luxembourg as will virtual reality storytelling tool VR Creative in the Tourism category and water solutions firm Weteq in the water category.
