The TNS Ilres survey published on Wednesday 23 August found three quarters of residents polled in Luxembourg would take a summer holiday this year, compared with 16% who had no holiday plans for the summer. A further 9% said they did not yet know.

Among those taking a break, the results found that 43% of people took a break in August, compared with 22% in July, while 22% planned to get away in September. In some instances, respondents indicated more than one month for their holiday escape.

The responses varied depending on the age of the respondent: of the group who took their holidays in July, 40% were aged from 18 to 24.

An earlier TNS Ilres survey about travel found the dream holiday destination of Luxembourg residents were USA and Australia.
