According to Luxembourg’s customs and excise team, 29 out of the 31 HGVs inspected in Luxembourg on 15 September were found to have fraudulently manipulated their tachograph, failed to respect legal driving and rest times or did not have the required on-board documents.

The inspection was carried out at the Luxembourg customs center as part of a joint Benelux operation. Across the three countries, 115 HGVs were inspected, of which 40% were found to infringe rules. Of the 47 offences found, 7 were in Belgium and 19 in the Netherlands.
