Tesla has seen a 163% jump in sales in Luxembourg from 2016 to 2017
Luxembourg is closing to beating its record for new car registrations in a year after 49,931 new private vehicles were rolled out in 2017.
According to figures published by the national technical control centre (SNCT) in November 4,389 new cars were registered. The country’s annual record was set in 2008, when 52,359 new cars arrived on Luxembourg’s roads. To top that figure, a further 2,428 would have to be registered in December 2017.
The most popular brands registered in November were Renault (471), followed by Volkswagen (456), BMW (426), Mercedes (365) and Audi (347). Since the start of the year, Volkswagen sold the most cars in Luxembourg (5,963), ahead of BMW (4,692), Mercedes (4,459), Audi (4,123) and Renault (3,812).
Compared to 2016, Tesla has seen a 163% jump in sales, while sales of Lamborghini rose 153%, Alfa Romeo 91%, Jaguar 89% and Mitsubishi 69%.
