According to a government press release, Amazon will be the first service provider and non-manufacturer to be awarded since the inception of the prize in 1999.

Past winners include Goodyear Rubber & Tire Company, DuPont, Guardian Industries, Avery Dennison Corporation, Husky Injection Molding Systems, Delphi Corp., Airtech Advanced Materials Group and Ampacet Corporation.

The bi-annual awards ceremony, which takes place on 15 May at the Luxembourg American Chamber of Commerce in New York, will also celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Miami University’s presence in Luxembourg. The university will receive an honorary business award for its excellence in fostering academic, economic and institutional collaborations between the US and Luxembourg.

Among the confirmed attendees at the event will be crown prince Guillaume, crown princess Stéphanie and economy minister Étienne Schneider.
