According to Amazon, there will be no major changes to current services: “Your content, configurations, access rights, security settings, pricing, and payment methods will remain the same.”

That said, Amazon does encourage customers to, “…make sure your account information is up-to-date and accurate. This will ensure that AWS calculates tax correctly and issues you valid VAT invoices, where required.”

Amazon plans to start calculating VAT automatically for customers in “Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Serbia, Spain, Sweden [and] the UK,” the company stated. “AWS will invoice local VAT for all accounts determined to be in those countries.”
