Church wardens announced the appointment of Geoff Read to the role of chaplain, left vacant after Chris Lyon retired at the beginning of 2017.

Read served as Anglican chaplain in Basel, Switzerland, for 15 years, before moving to his current role in clergy training and development in the Diocese of Chelmsford in England.

His wife, Marie-Louise, is German and grew up in Bitburg. She began her career as a translator before moving into language teaching. The couple has two grown-up daughters.

They are no strangers to Luxembourg, having married at the Konvikt Chapel in 1985. As a couple, they enjoy cycling, hosting guests and walking with their yellow Labrador, Evie.

"We are excited about becoming part of the Anglican Church of Luxembourg, and working out together how the Lord will lead us forward to build on all that has been achieved there over the years. We value your prayers as we prepare to move,” the couple said in a joint statement shared by the Anglican church wardens.
