4 sports people tested positive for banned substances in 2017, according to figures published by anti-doping agency Alad.
In total five sample tests from four athletes came back positive with a further 190 negative, the agency said in a statement on Wednesday.
Among the four were Greek athlete Panagiotis Andreadis at the Vectis Indoor meeting on 10 February 2017. The athlete received a four-year competition suspension from the Greek sports authorities.
Amicale Steinsel basketball player Alexandra Williams received a two-year suspension after triamcinolone was found in her tests. Footballer Emmanuel Françoise received a reprimand after his urine sample tested positive for Terbutaline while playing for Fola Esch in a championship game in May 2017. Meanwhile traces of molidustat were found in two urine tests from cyclist Matija Kvasina. The cyclist was suspended for four years.
The agency collected 187 urine samples, including eight abroad. Of that number, 144 samples were collected at competitions, of which just under half (67) were unscheduled.
