To help combat the issue, Luxembourg plans to invest €2m over five years through its first national antibiotic plan.
On Tuesday, MPs discussed the plan which will form the basis of a communication strategy aimed at raising awareness among stakeholders treating the human, veterinary and environmental aspects associated with the issue of antimicrobial resistance.
