  • BCEE is satisfied with its activity in the first half of the year, posting a 6.8% increase in net profit compared to the first six months of 2016. Net income reached 161.7 million euros while the volume of customer deposits also increased by 8.7% (30.65 billion euros) over the last six months.
  •  A formal order for the liquidation of investment firm Obsieger Capital Management SA was made on 3 August, following the final withdrawal of the approval by the finance ministry. Laurent Fisch was appointed as liquidator.
  • The public prosecutor has formally appealed the July judgment fining the owners of the café-restaurant in Waldhaff (in a Natura 2000 zone) €20,000 for installing a roof over the terrace. The prosecution had requested a €125,000 fine, removal of the roof and the café’s closure.
