Organisers will close some roads during the race, notably during the prologue Skoda Tour de Luxembourg

The Skoda Tour de Luxembourg prologue is a time trial race around the capital, with the first rider setting off from boulevard Roosevelt at 7pm.

The event, which continues with four stages around the country until Sunday, is a huge draw for cycling fans, attracting the cream of the sport’s crop to the country.

People can also support local cyclists within the Differdange Losch team as well as Jempy Drucker (BMC Racing) and Alex Kirsch (WB Veranclassic Aquality).

But, for the non-cycling fans out there, it is worth making a mental note as organisers will close some rides during the race, notably during the prologue.

Traffic disruptions

The prologue sets off 31 May at 7pm, departing from boulevard Roosevelt, along the Passerelle, boulevard de la Pétrusse, rue de Prague, rue St Ulric, montée du Grund, rue Large, rue de la Boucherie, rue du Marché-aux-Herbes, rue de l’Eau, finishing in rue Notre-Dame. The last rider is expected to finish at 9:03pm.
