Rufus Wainwright is on tour this summer and stops off at the Conservatoire. Matthew Welch

Recognised as one of the great male vocalists, composers, and songwriters of his generation, Rufus Wainwright will perform at the Conservatoire de la Ville de Luxembourg on 14 July.

He has released a string of acclaimed studio albums, including 2007’s “Release The Stars”, as well as a recording of his stunning shows at Carnegie Hall in which he sang Judy Garland songs. The son of Loudon Wainwright III and brother of Martha Wainwright, Rufus has also written two operas. He is married to German arts administrator Jörn Weisbrodt and the couple have a daughter conceived with Lorca Cohen, the daughter of Leonard.

Wainwright is a unique artist who sings with passion and poetry, and this is a great chance to see him in a relatively small venue. The Luxembourg date follows a tour of the UK and precedes a series of shows in Germany and Switzerland.

Book tickets here as of Friday at 9 a.m.
