Two individuals were slightly injured, but the roof of the brasserie needs to be completely replaced due to the material damages, during which time the site will remain closed. Five home owners had to be relocated as a result of the fire, which allegedly started in the premises’ basement kitchen in an extractor hood.
In a social media post on Saturday, the owners thank the police and fire brigade for intervening rapidly. The roughly 50 staff members will be reassigned to other establishments under the same owner while the works are carried out.
Fire in Esch
Over the same weekend, this time on Sunday evening, an explosion took place in the “Tutti Frutti” warehouse in Esch-sur-Alzette, causing a fire.
The situation was under control in just over an hour, according to the authorities, and no injuries were reported as a result.
