Georgina Bryant found out about the British Ladies Club before she had even moved to Luxembourg.

Georgina Bryant arrived in Luxembourg in October 2017 and joined the British Ladies Club a few weeks later.

Delano: How did you find out about the British Ladies Club?

Georgina Bryant: I found out about the club before I had even moved to Luxembourg. My husband and I were using Luxembourg Facebook groups to find out information about the country before we moved, for example, the best places to live for families. Someone mentioned the BLC but I didn’t join until meeting the children’s coordinators at a fair. They invited me to the play group at ZigZag indoor play area, which I attended after only a few weeks living in Luxembourg. After this I was an enthusiastic participant of the BLC and all the amazing groups they hold for parents and their children.

What is your role in the club?

At first, I was happy to be a member of the club and attended many of the children’s events with my daughter. In September 2018 I took over the children’s coordinator role along with Katy. We organised a September party in the park, the Christmas party, Easter event, and we organise and attend many of the children’s events held during the week.

What do you most enjoy about being a member?

The best thing about being a member of the BLC has been the friends that I have made. It was great to have so many friends that were parents of similar aged children. It helped us settle into Luxembourg life quickly. As I stopped working when I arrived in Luxembourg it was important for me to find people to socialise with and take my daughter to play dates, so she could make new friends.

Does any one particular memory stick out from your time with BLC?

My favourite memory of the BLC would be the Easter event that we have recently celebrated. It was a beautiful day, I felt the event was well organised, the children were enjoying themselves and many parents thanked us for the event afterwards. We held the event in a park, and it was brilliant to see all the children racing around looking for eggs, joining in with the games and crafts and playing in the playground. My children were also well behaved which is always a bonus!
