The idea was sparked at a table amongst friends one night, according to co-founder Francesco*, “like most things happen: after a bottle of wine”. 

As he was sharing his experience about how cannabidiol oil had aided an acquaintance to relieve eczema, his friends at the table wondered: why not make the purchase of CBD products simpler?

Francesco and Davide* are the core of the Enjoint team (although there are two others who prefer more behind-the-scenes roles). The two hail from Florence and Ancona, respectively, which tend to enjoy warmer climes than the grand duchy. They realised, especially between Luxembourg’s bad weather and friends’ family and work commitments, that people appreciate the ease of delivery systems. 

Could there be a similar demand for the delivery of CBD products? 

Surprising demographics

Although the idea had been percolating longer, the online CBD shop launched over the summer, offering a range of oils, drops and buds. CBD is a naturally-produced component of cannabis but, unlike tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), it has no psychotropic or narcotic effects.

Anyone 18+ can shop the site and get a delivery estimate (although deliveries only occur during their set delivery hours, mainly over lunchtime and evening hours, Monday through Saturday).

The team admits delivery times are longer for customers in different parts of the country, but they guarantee they will deliver within 60 minutes to addresses within the capital city. 

So far, Enjoint has been happily surprised at the reception. According to Davide, around 40% of their customers are women, many middle-aged, which rather surprised the team. But it’s a range of customers--even bankers and doctors—who are trusting their products. “Many even have products delivered to their workplace,” Davide added.  

If all goes well, in the future the company might consider other products, like premixed tea, Francesco said. 

Quality, discretion above all

The team says it has verified the quality of the organic products, supplied mostly by Swiss Pharmotech, with Swiss and Luxembourg authorities. In addition to quality, discretion is important to most of their customers, which the team respects.  “We deliver by motorbike or a car, but the product is packaged very discretely,” Davide said. “Since customers are ordering on credit card, we also treat this discretely, and it won’t show up as Enjoint.”

Francesco hopes people will open their minds to explore what CBD can offer. He uses it for muscle aches after playing football, for example. “People sometimes ask for our opinion on what they should try, but they should think of it more like wine. They should try out what they like. Everyone has their own tastes.”
