“Transversal and multidisciplinary” are the words that Dr. Guy Berchem applied when explaining the objective of the new CHL Kriibszentrum. Different organs are affected by the cancerous pathology, requiring the expertise of not only specialists in cancer pathology but organ specialists too. So, CHL intends to strengthen its medical team with specialised care hubs.

At a time where cancer keeps affecting more and more individuals, with 13,000 patients admitted to the cancer ward last year in Luxembourg, CHL has increased the number of hospital beds dedicated to oncology and redeveloped its chemotherapy clinic.

According to the hospital’s announcement, CHL Kriibszentrum aims to become a major partner in one of the two competence networks provided for by the new hospital law for cancer care.
