The City Skyliner is located on Place de la Constitution where it will remain until 6 August.

Attendees of Wednesday morning's City Breakfast were the first to ride the 72 meters to the top, though the tower itself is 81 meters tall.

The tower has already made appearances in other European cities and caught the attention of Luxembourg City mayor Lydie Polfer.

“We saw it in another city and asked if it could be possible to have it here,” Polfer told Delano. “When you see good things somewhere, you should try to bring them back home.”

The fully air-conditioned and wheel-chair accessible tower takes seven minutes to reach the top and can carry up to 60 people at a time. When the skyliner arrives at the top, passengers are offered a breath-taking, 360-degree panoramic view of the city centre and the Petrusse valley.

The Skyliner Bar provides waiting patrons with a choice of hot and cold drinks which can be taken on board.

The tower is open from 11:00 to 21:00 Sundays-Thursdays and from 11:00 to 23:00 on Fridays and Saturdays.

It costs €7 for adults, €4 for children 4-12 and is free for children under 4.

“We think it’s a very good touristic attraction,” Polfer added. “Not only for tourists but for people who live here. It’s really impressive, and I’m so happy we did it.”
