The biggest chunk of the budget went to MP expenses, with €11.7m spent on political leave, allowances, social security contributions and travel expenses.

The parliament subsidised political groups’ operational costs to the tune of €2.8m, spent €10.2 on staff costs and €6.6m on its own operations, including educational videos.

Travel and expenses related to participation in international parliamentary institutions amounted to €636,000 while publication and distribution of reports set it back €800,000.

Finally, it funded the organisation of an extraordinary conference for the French-speaking parliamentary assembly to the tune of €1.2m.
