- The new draft on the data protection law has been presented. It essentially transposes European directive 2016/680, and its implementation is foreseen for May 2018. It also introduces, next to the national committee for data protection (CNPD), a new entity dedicated to the control legal data protection.
- Joëlle Elvinger, MP for the DP, will be designated rapporteur on the next budget, according to information obtained by Paperjam. She will be the first woman in this role for 10 years.
- Criticism of the space mining law has been rebuked by Frans von der Dunk, a consultant on space law, arguing that “these texts are legally quite difficult to criticise.” He argued that an international system which protects the interests of the international community and operators at large was necessary.
