Thousands of revellers gathered around the church and spilled over into the pedestrianised high street with its cafés to meet friends and have a drink or two. After a brief shower, the weather stayed dry and people flocked to the town to celebrate till the early morning hours.

Monday night is the annual cards tournament, where the national game of Kontramitt is played.
