Uefa has reportedly begun disciplinary proceedings against Rangers after objects were allegedly thrown during a match against Luxembourg’s Progrès Niederkorn.
The game, played on 29 June at Ibrox, was the Europa League first qualifying round and saw Rangers win by a narrow 1-0. The teams are expected to face each other again at 7:45pm on 4 July, in Luxembourg’s Josy Barthel stadium.
It is alleged that supporters threw objects onto the pitch, according to Independent IE, which reported that the Uefa control, ethics and disciplinary body will rule on the case on Friday.
In a message to Delano, Uefa confirmed that disciplinary proceedings have been opened following the match. A spokesperson said that charges against Rangers FC comprised of "Throwing of objects Art. 16 (2) of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations (DR)", who added further: "This case will be dealt with by the Uefa control, ethics and disciplinary body on 7 July."
