My Pledge is aligned with the global #NoWomenNoPanel movement and aims to ensure more women participate on panels at public events.

“As business and political leaders and role models in society, we pledge that whenever we are invited to a public speaking event, we will inquire about the organiser’s efforts to ensure gender diversity as keynotes and panels,” the think tank wrote in a press release.

Equilibre co-founder Larissa Best wrote a speakers' corner for Delano in March in which she said that the initiative was needed to create more female role models. She wrote:

“With 22.8% of worldwide national parliamentarians being women, according to the UN Women, we still have some way to go but there is no lack of women. Luxembourg actually ranks higher than that average with 28.3% according to the WEF Gender Parity Study of 2017. However, if Luxembourg is overtaken by Rwanda, Africa, with 68.3% women parliamentarians, we have some room for improvement.”

Anyone can take part in the pledge, and support the think tank through its various initiatives. What is more, people will be rewarded with an Equilibre pin if they convince a company to join My Pledge, convince three individuals to support it, referee three women to the Equilibre speakers group and make a donation to the thinktank.
