The European court of human rights has delivered its verdict on whether an employer can check his employee's private conversations at workPicture credit: Mathieu Nivelles 

  • The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that a Romanian national was unjustly fired for having personal electronic messenger conversations at work. The Strasbourg-based court said that it was unlawful for employers to read their employees’ correspondence without advance notice and without taking measures to respect their privacy.
  • The CSV has reacted on the controversy caused by MEP Frank Engel, saying it’s “better to sleep it over before hitting the send button”. The party also presented the framework programme for the local elections on 8 October.
  • Finance minister Pierre Gramegna has denied the allegations that certain draft legislation is crafted by private lawyers and audit firms.
  • Ryanair registered a 10% increase of passengers in August compared to last year. Ryanair flies to London, Milan, Porto, Lisbon and Madrid from Luxembourg, and will start a new route to Barcelona in October.
  • London plans to expand its tourism sector. Mayor Sadiq Khan, by increasing the number of hotels and adding the “Elizabeth” line to the underground network.
