Data by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) indicates that less staff will be at work at the games set to start in Pyeongchang in South Korea, compared to previous games in Sochi and Vancouver. Many contractors were employed for the 2010 games in Canada.

The Pyeongchang games will have the most staff directly on the pay role of the IOC, or rather the Organising Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOG), which is formed by the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of the host nation for each games.

However, without the help of volunteers the Olympics couldn’t be staged.
