CopyPeer, an American website copywriting firm, used data from GunPolicy.org, an international firearm injury research and policy organisation affiliated with the University of Sydney. The numbers were recorded between 1999 and 2014.

In October, another mass shooting took place, at an open-air concert in Las Vegas, where a gunman left 58 people dead and more than 500 injured.
