In a report published online on Friday, the newspaper gave a brief potted history of the grand duchy and highlighted the benefits.

In addition to its “political stability, pro-European character and accessible administration”, the report lists the favourable regulatory environment, highly skilled workforce and English proficiency.

High quality of life was also cited as a major attraction, as well as a range of educational options for English curricula.

It did not, however, gloss over some of the well-known drawbacks, such as the high cost of real estate for homes and offices and salaries.

The author pointed out that much of the country’s success is based on its “symbiotic, complementary relationship with London, founded on its tax advantages.” Remove London from the equation, she wrote, and “it could be damaging for Luxembourg, which may have even more to lose than London.”
