That’s according to CB Insights, a data analysis firm.
The company’s “2018 Fintech Trends Report”, released on 25 January, counted more than 60 such startups in the EU, including 2 in Luxembourg: Governance.io and TheMarketsTrust.
But that apparently was an undercount. “Luxembourg has at least 10 #regtech companies to add to the map,” the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology tweeted on 4 February.
The promotion group then listed Alto, CDDS, Finologee, Fundsquare, GoldbAuM, Secourriel, Seqvoia, SnapSwap, Tetrao.eu and Ume.
As for the rest of Europe, the UK was the biggest regtech hub; CB Insights cited 34 startups. Next was Switzerland, with 6.
