The financial inclusion specialist, which also has offices in Togo, develops financial services for mobile use in Africa. Among its products is a free financial services platform for individuals and professionals to manage electronic accounts. The firm was founded in 2014 by Grégoire Yakan, who launched a pilot phase in Luxembourg in 2016.

Koosmik was among 30 Luxembourg startups and established firms to attend the Paris Fintech Forum, the Luxembourg finance ministry reported. Hosted from 29-30 January, the forum offers a platform and meeting place for fintech startups and established industry experts. Now in its fourth year, it attracted over 220 speakers from 60 countries.

Luxembourg finance minister Pierre Gramegna participated in the closing round table on digital finance and the fintech industry. During discussions, he stressed the important role of regulation in stimulating financial innovation and called for a strengthening of the fintech regulatory framework at EU level.
