He will replace Marc Ruppert, who resigned from his post last week.

The 41-year-old, who stood against Martine Dieschbourg-Nickels, is an old hand in the DP. He was active in the youth section before and even presided it, and coordinated the election campaign of the party in the 2013 parliamentary elections.

He became an MP in 2016, and is the president of the Luxembourg tennis federation. He will take over the post in an interim position until April 2018, when the national party congress will formally vote on the new secretary general.
