Connected Rope, an innovative analytics tool that assists boat anchorage, is the product that caught the jury’s eye.
Largowind was founded and is run by Mathilde Argaud and, in a press release issued following the semi-final event, she explained: “Connected Rope is an analytics tool aimed at providing real-time information about boat anchorage. Therefore, if your anchor is dragging or if your boat is drifting, Connected Rope enables you to be informed in real-time and to act proactively.”
During the awards ceremony, which took place at EY (Ernst & Young) Luxembourg’s offices, Argaud told participants that the start-up Largowind comes from a passion for all things nautical, something that was handed down from her father.
“As I have always looked for new ideas and innovation, the application of new technologies--and connected objects in particular--to the nautical sector emerged as an obvious response to a real need and an opportunity for rapid growth,” she said.
The Startup World Cup is a world-wide event dedicated to start-ups and is supported by the Luxembourg government. It is organised by Fenox Venture Capital in Silicon Valley and in Luxembourg by Farvest and EY Luxembourg.
