Gabriel di Letizia, president of the SESF trade union for financial sector works, speaks at an anniversary event, 15 March 2018 LCGB/Christian Dupont

The event, held at the Tramsschapp cultural centre on Thursday, was opened by Gabriel di Letizia, president of SESF, who explained that it was set up by the LCGB 15 years ago as specific a union for employees in the banking, insurance, fiduciaries, financial industry professional providers (PSF) and other branches of the financial sector.

He said:

“Since its inception, the SESF has continued to develop, caring for the needs of financial sector employees. I would like to thank everyone in this group for their hard work.”

The evening also marked the official launch of the campaign for the “social elections”, which take place in March 2019. The social elections are when employees get the opportunity to vote for a new staff delegation, a group which represents the interests of personnel viz-a-viz the employer.

The set-up of a staff delegation is obligatory in Luxembourg for companies with more than 15 employees, and the official launch means that candidates will soon start canvassing for votes.
