A total 85% of those bans (1,517) were for drink driving, while 10% (192) were for speeding.

Luxembourg police checked 17,314 people in vehicles in 2017 during 183 controls.

The number of people caught breaking the law rose from 441 to 572, of which 401 were given a ticket and 171 warnings.
