The 20 players who form the national men’s lacrosse team will face competition from 47 other countries, including newcomers Bulgaria and Chile.

While the squad has been selected, the national club would like to hear from anyone who is interested in playing, with some experience of the game, and who will have a Luxembourg passport by 1 June 2018. Interested players can email the club by [email protected].

“This is a very special time for our sport and our players as they will achieve a lot of ‘firsts’ during their time in Israel. The results are nowhere near as important as the structure we now create for future teams competing in international men and women’s tournaments,” national lacrosse team general manager Henning Schmidt said in a press release published Friday.

Training is well underway supported by a team of coaches from the UK and Canada. The tournament takes place from 12-21 July in Netanya. The club is also seeking further sponsors to fund their entry in the competition. Interested sponsors should email [email protected].
