Luxembourg is to test how lowering motorway speeds on two motorways will impact traffic flows in the morning rush hour Mike Zenari/archives

The scheme will be tested from 3 June until 12 July, when the new speed limit will apply on a 28-kilometre stretch of road from the A6 from Sterpenich to the A1 at the Kirchberg interchange.

It will be effective between 6:15am and 9:15am outside of school and public holidays, with the exception of certain sections affected by accidents or incidents requiring additional traffic measures.

The speed limit sections will be monitored by the Luxembourg police.
