The foreign affairs ministry announced the arrival in a press release published on 25 October, saying that Luxembourg is edging closer to the foreseen allocation number, which was fixed in the refugee relocation scheme by the EU justice and home affairs council (JHA) in 2015.

According to the press release, 52 asylum seekers arrived, which means that only 37 out of the 248 remain to be relocated from this country. From Greece, 272 out of the 309 refugees have already been moved to the grand duchy.

According to the ministry, Luxembourg is on track to fulfil its relocation commitment before the end of the year.

The relocated asylum seekers were welcomed at the airport by representatives of the integration office, Olai, the ministry for foreign affairs and the family ministry.
