Luxairgroup plans to create 250 permanent jobs in the first half of 2018, in its air LuxairCargo operations Maison Moderne (archives)

According to a press release from the group, Luxaircargo’s record 2017 in which it exceeded 938,000 tonnes of freight, it will create an additional 150 jobs up to July 2018.

“If the favorable economic situation persists and the level of activity remains stable, some 100 additional permanent contracts will be created in several stages until the end of the year,” the group wrote.

The firm is also hiring around 100 people for some temporary posts in the field of air cargo handling to deal with fluctuations in volumes.

The group directly employs 2,900 people and is responsible for some 3,000 indirect jobs linked to its activities, it said. This year it will offer work placements for students from various Luxembourg high schools in the areas of transport and logistics.
