According to a statement issued on Tuesday, the aggregated balance sheet reached €811,463 on 30 April 2019, up 0.7% from €805,435 on 31 March.

Net interbank lending reached €155,520 at the end of April, while loans to resident non-bank customers decreased by €142m (0.2%) between March and April 2019. Over a year, however, such loans increased by €4,897 (5.5%). The report credited this progress to increases in loans to non-financial corporations, which rose 4.6%, to loans for house purchases (+ 8.5%) and loans to other financial intermediaries (+3.7%).

Deposits from the resident non-bank sector rose by €2,570m (+1%), month on month. Annually, it marked a rise of 7.2%, increasing by €16,636m.

Deposits from other financial intermediaries increased by €8,529m (5.3%). The report recorded that in other sectors, resident household deposits increased by €3,258 m (8.8%), while resident NFC deposits increased by €3,025m (19.6%).
