Luxembourg’s list of bestsellers in August 2017 was released on Thursday. The bestseller list was divided into three categories, namely literature, non-fiction, and children’s and young adult fiction.

According to two trade groups, the Lëtzebuerger Bicherediteuren and Fédération luxembourgoise des librairies, Gintaré Parulyté’s book “Fuck” racked up the highest sales. The title echoes the blunt tone of a story about love, relationships, and a couple that is desperately trying to conceive a child.

The second most bought book was a collection of short stories by the Greisch family, called “Tëscht Kaz a Kueder”. Published by Guy Binsfeld, the book treats human relationships and the often-unexpected turns they take in one’s life.

Jackie Messerich’s “Tunnel of Love” was the third bestselling book. The story originated from a torn piece of paper that the author found on the TGV, right on the seat next to her. It is a love story in sixteen chapters, which equals the number of paper shreds she found on the train.

In the non-fiction category, Marc Thill’s and Dan Schank’s “Johann der Blinder, Karl lV” drew the most sales in August.

“Collectif: Zéng klassesch Märercher” published by Editions Saint-Paul was the most bought book in the children’s literature category.
