Schaus, born in the grand duchy in 1963, replaces Christophe Navarre who leaves to focus on his investment fund, Neptune International.

Schaus received his MBA from Insead. He has been a member of the executive committee of LVMH since 2012, but his career with the group began 14 years ago when he joined Louis Vuitton as the head of the Europe zone. He later served as the brand’s senior VP (2006) and executive VP (2009-2011).

Bernard Arnault, chairman and CEO of the LVMH Group, stated, “I am delighted with the appointment of Philippe Schaus at the head of Moët Hennessy…I am confident that [he] will be an excellent leader to help Moët Hennessy achieve even greater success in the future.”

Schaus began his career at JP Morgan in 1987, joined The Boston Consulting Group in 1990, and later worked as the international commercial director of the porcelain tableware divison at Villeroy & Boch.

In 2016, Moët Hennessy recorded €4,835m in sales and an operating profit of €1,504m. It is well-known for its wide range of champagne, cognac and wine labels, including Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin and Dom Pérignon.
