The ETFs have assets of €4.9bn, Ignites Europe reported on 15 November. Lyxor moved €2bn in assets in October and €2.9bn in November.
Adam Laird, head of ETF strategy for Northern Europe at Lyxor, was quoted by the site as saying:
“The rationale has been very much client demand. Many of our investors across Europe tell us Luxembourg is a simple domicile for them to deal with.”
“The redomicile change is part of quite routine business--part of our overall product modernisation project,” Laird told Delano on 5 December.
The company said on its website that it is Europe’s third largest ETF provider. The firm had already redomiciled €1.3bn two years ago, Ignites Europe said. Investment Week reported in October 2017 that Lyxor would convert another set of ETFs to French or Luxembourg Sicavs.
